'The Longest Day' by Sarah Phelps |
George is shocked to discover that Harrick is alive, suffering from amnesia, and incarcerated in the hospital psychiatric ward. Convinced that this will mean the end of the life he and his friends have built for themselves George turns to Nina for help; Nina immediately takes charge, checking Herrick out of the hospital under the guise of her ‘Uncle Billy’, and taking him home to Mitchell and Annie. Mitchell is still haunted by the memory of the people he slaughtered, and of Lia’s warning of his imminent death; seeing Herrick back from the dead sends him over the edge, and he is all for staking the vampire until Nina intervenes. The housemates are thrown into further panic when they receive a visit from a neurotic Community Psychiatric Nurse called Wendy, who has come to assess the conditions that ‘Uncle Billy’ will be living under; then things go from bad to worse when Herrick’s former lover, the psychotic vampire Kara, turns up on their doorstep. Learning that Kara was responsible for Herrick’s return, Mitchell makes a deal to restore her lover’s memory in exchange for the secret of resurrection. Meanwhile, Herrick finds out about Mitchell’s recent killing spree, and he confides in Nina…
